How often does my Porsche 991 need servicing?

Although in the original 991 maintenance guide it was recommended that the car should be serviced every 2 years or 20,000 miles. We would recommend servicing every year instead, by changing your oil and filters more regularly, not only are you keeping your car in better condition but you’re much more likely to spot and deal with any future issues before they can be of any harm to your vehicle.

What are common 991 problems to watch out for?

Due to the age of this car, not many problems have been discovered as of yet, and most issues from previous generations have been fixed and improved. The biggest issues 991 owners are running into at the moment are faults with the Change Over Valves, which when compared to the issues of the vehicle’s forbearers, doesn’t seem as significant. However, regularly servicing your car is a great way to keep your car running smoothly and ensure that any risk of future issues is completely minimized.

Are Porsche 991’s reliable?

When compared to some of the previous generations of Porsche 911, it is obvious to see that the 991 is one of the most reliable models. The car is still relatively young, so as long as it has been maintained and serviced, you shouldn’t run into any issues with this vehicle and it should definitely be a good choice of the 911 range.

What should I check before purchasing a Porsche 991?

The first thing you should check before purchasing a Porsche 991 is the car’s service and repair history. Due to the age of the car, it is unlikely that you’ll run into any issues with the vehicle and as long as it has been serviced well and you maintain this, problems with the car are less likely to appear. Tools can be used to see if the car has been over-revved in the past and this can be a good indicator to any potential problems with the engine.
